Lake Mburo National Park is always open to all walkers as long as they are accompanied by a Uganda Wildlife Authority park ranger guide. The Rubanga forest-guided nature walks give many walkers a greater opportunity to spot many bird sightings. The Rubanga forest walk requires travelers to book prior to their travel dates for proper arrangements, and the Rubanga forest nature walks are in the company of the park ranger.

 Travelers interested in hiking breakfast in Lake Mburo are also accompanied by the Ugandan Wildlife Authority Ranger. Travelers are required to have the right clothes, equipment, and a packed lunch. Every traveler should have those things ready by the day of hiking at Lake Mburo National Park. The hiking daypack includes a picnic lunch and 2 liters of water. 

Travelers should carry wellies or waterproof boots, long trousers, and long-sleeved shirts. These clothes are good for your hiking safari in the bush; they protect you against the brush and the thorns that may prick your skin, and they also help against snake bites, mosquitoes, tsetse flies, ants, and flies. The hiking boots are also necessary because they protect your ankle and support you during the hike.

Riding a horse in a national park is another special way to view wildlife species. Horseback riding may take up to four hours and always includes hilltop sundowners or the magical bush breakfasts.

The best time to visit Lake Mburo National Park for general wildlife spotting is during the dryer seasons from June to September and December to February. However, Lake Mburo National Park can still be visited in the wetter seasons from March to May or again in October to November.
